As a Strategic Decision Engineer at the Miele X Strategy and R&D department, your goal is to help implement a framework for complex decisions for our different Miele business platforms. Through the implementation of systems analysis, applied probability and decision theory into our strategic data engineering projects, you will enable more rapid experimentation, and increased accuracy of our models, algorithms and systems.
You will help create a state-of-the-art decision model so that our local and global organization is capable of understanding and using the information provided in the best way for our customers.
Together with the other members of the Strategy Projects Team, our colleagues at our headquarters and in the local subsidiaries you will follow the requirements set by the Strategic Project Owner and Data Architect. This will be the chance to build the new foundation for our Global Commercial Operations future.

• Analyze and combine the data in order to extract the right information (incl. all PII data is treated according to GDPR and local legislation where applicable)
• Build, improve and maintain the data decision pipelines for our Miele Business Platforms.
• Implement and support the decision models for new data combinations
• Inspire and support the Strategic Integration Team, our colleagues in the head quarter, the local subsidaries and in the different business units to find an optimal contribution to the end result of the Strategic Project.
• Work in cross-functional strategic teams to develop and implement Decision Making
• Standards that can help solve complex problems.
• Apply modern engineering techniques to develop decision support software prototypes, which may be implemented into the busines platform.
• Propose and execute novel, cutting-edge research in Al-enhanced decision systems.
• Evaluate decision making solutions against sponsor requirements and produce actionable recommendations.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline related to artificial intelligence
• 7+ years impactful experience in Al-relevant fields with business exposure (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, multi-agent systems, planning, data science, decision science, human machine teaming, and cognitive science)
• Fluency in English
• Very good knowledge of the Azure data platforms and other modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience with programming languages such as C++ and Python
• Track record of successful deployment of AI-enhanced decision systems that have been used by key decision makers.
• Keen to learn and ability to rapidly respond to new problems
• Excellent verbal and written skills in articulating challenging technical concepts to various audiences
• Understanding of predictive modeling, NLP and text analysis, Machine Learning and Implementation of Decision Models
• Proficient in using decision hierarchies, strategy tables, decision diagrams, structural modeling, sensitivity analysis, probability assessment, and decision trees
• Nice to have: Apache Spark, Databricks, Airflow, and experience with one of the programming languages Python, C/C++, Java, and Perl
